Halloween Miniatures: Spooky Restaurant Start

Yes, you know by now that I like to work on several projects at once. I also read several books at a time. ha!

While I am finishing the Michaels Haunted Library kit (almost done!) I started figuring this out - as the photo above shows, the spooky restaurant is in the planning!

The idea is to put the last Street of Shops building I have on top of the finished Witch's Bakery. (See pix at link). It will be a spooky restaurant and take some planning to get it connected and fit right. The fun idea is to possibly have a special rooftop bar as well. I'll keep that as a surprise for later.

So far I put the two together (above) to test. Now the building walls are glued. My friend's hubby kindly cut holes in the sides for two windows which I have to add "glass" and frame in.

It's still a work in progress... It looks kind of weird now, but needs adjusting and trimming. I mightlve glued the walls differently than I'd originally planned, but was looking how they best fit together. We'll see. The wall with the door has to be on one of the first floor's blank walls to fit the stais. I'll make it work as I have to add trim around the edges, etc. to blend the two buildings together.

I have to finish a bit of egg carton stone on the front and walk, then paint the sides. I have another chandeleir to use to match the bakery, but will also add more lights in the ceiling. It will all be LED and while separate, the two buildings will connect to run off one transformer. At least that's the plan. ha!

I also bought this kit (Make Market Diorama kit) last year at Michaels as I had the idea to use the counter for the kitchen. I looked at the size and the height seems good, so it (hopefully) should work. I'm hoping to make a small cooking kitchen with a large "serving" counter in front so I can put weird foods to be served, and then have several tables for diners. The neat thing about this kit is that it came with a lot of kitchen accessories. The room itself will make a nice "studio" to put furniture in for photos once I assemble and decorate it.

We'll see what I figure out in the space. I really liked making my half-scale diner and did want to make a larger version. Will be lots of planning, building, and spray painting. I have some aluminum tape, too, which I might try to see if I can use it on something. This time I'm thinking of trying to add maybe a pizza oven plus the griddles. We'll see what works and what fits.

I found a fridge at Michaels, too. It's wider, but I thought it had potential. Would be fun to have it open with weird stuff inside. (Like the jar with the head picture inside!)

I actually don't like to do all the building stuff; the making things is the fun part! And I really like making all kinds of weird foods - ghost pizza, eyeball spaghetti, "finger" sandwiches... you name it!

Will share when I get some things done and figure more out, but this one will keep me busy for awhile! More projects always coming!
