Miniatures Monday: Flea Market Dollhouse

Great find this past weekend. This was sold as a birdhouse, but put a stained glass window in the hole and I see a half scale dollhouse!  And lucky me, the back is in held in with screws. I thought we'd have to cut a hole in the back. And it has glass or plexiglass windows. A great find!

Miniatures Monday: Miniature Perfumes

It's been a little bit since I posted any new minis, what with being busy with the soon-release of my book, GIRL Z: My Life as a Teenage Zombie (Aug, 1! but you can pre-order - see links at zombie book page.)

In the meantime, I am working on other writing projects and yes I am doing some minis, too. Here are a few new perfume displays I made for the Ladies Shoppes I'm working on. (See bookshelves with links to some other projects I made.)  Some of the boxes are kits from Heirlooms by Susan.

Miniatures Monday: Colorful Porch Idea

Every time I've seen this pic, I've just loved the colors! So I figured I better save it!

I see this as inspiration for a future miniature porch with all kinds of flowers and wicker furniture. Aren't the colors great?  I wish I could see the rest of the house. Please do share if you see it and find the source.

Miniatures Monday: New ladies shop bookshelves

Here are the bookshelves I just finished decorating for the larger room of the two-part ladies' shop. The shelves will hold purses, hats and probably perfumes. I really like how these came out. The bottom gold scrapbook paper had glitter-like dots in a design.

This is the larger room box, which is built but not decorated yet.

Other shop items from previous posts:

 * Smaller roombox for shoes, etc.  - Before pic

Another miniatures project for the Ladies' Shoppe - mini lipsticks

Thought I'd posted this here too... Thought  this came out really neat. Fiddly but worth trying. Going to do another with a different graphic... Isn't that cool? Something for a table in the ladies' shoppe...

Miniatures Monday, New Ladies Shop in Progress - Preview

Wanted to share a quick preview pic of the miniature Ladies' Shoppe I'm setting up. This is the smaller roombox. I have a larger one which will hold more items as well.

The two large cabinets in back are - ta-da! - thimble cabinets!! Been saving them and thought they'd look perfect painted white and filled with shoes and shoe boxes. I have another one to use for potion bottles in a wizard room I have to finish.

Just was setting up this room to see what fits. The space on the right wall will have mirrors and a hanging rack with dresses.

It'll be neat to see the before and after photos once everything is painted and decorated. I got this box decorated from the flea market for -- $5. All it needed was a top molding and I have to put electric in yet.  (click for larger pic)
