Just got the medallion in the mail!
A story I wrote on Wisconsin dog rescuers and fostering, "Foster Families for Pets" by freelance writer Christine A. Verstraete was chosen as the winner of a Maxwell Medallion for Best Feature in a Mainstream Magazine by the Dog Writers Association.
The story was published in the Jan/Feb 2012 PRIME Magazine, Kenosha News.
The story was chosen as the category winner at the association's banquet on Feb. 10, 2013 in New York City. See awards announcement at DWAA.org.
